Janet Echelman is an artist that pushes the boundaries with sculptures that transform with wind and light. She incorporates unlikely materials with cutting-edge material to create artwork for major urban areas, now on four continents. Her TED talk, “Taking Imagination Seriously” has been viewed by more than a million people worldwide. She is a recipient from many major fellowships like the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Harvard Graduate School of Design Loeb Fellowship, and the Aspen Institute Henry Crown Fellowship. She holds a degree from Harvard College in Visual and Environmental Studies, graduate degrees in psychology and in painting, and is currently Visiting Professor at M.I.T. in the School of Architecture and Planning.
