CEO at VirtualApt Corp
VirtualAPT’s Co-Founder and CEO, Bryan Colin, graduated from Skidmore College with a degree in Business Management in 2006. Originally a hedge fund trader, Bryan got involved in technology development several years ago. As one of the early innovators of modern VR/AR, VirtualAPT has many notable achievements thus far, including winning Accenture’s ConsumerTech Award in the Millennial Shopper Category. The company started in January of 2016 as an attempt to solve the frustration with having to spend days looking for an apartment in NYC. Once Bryan realized that technology didn’t exist for the experience he wanted, VirtualAPT spent 10 months in development before taking on clients in November of 2016.
His team builds mobile supercomputers that travel autonomously through a space while capturing 6K content in 360 by 180 degrees. Using Lidar technology the robot is able to map in real time up to 500,000 square feet within 30 seconds and then draw the desired path. The robot will then move on it’s own on this path, with realistic dimensions and depth. Within minutes the content is processed to create an immersive, 360-degree, Mixed Reality experience. They can provide a variety of end-to-end technology services that combine VR and Augmented Reality (“AR”) elements to add to a client’s existing technology portfolio. They are using a layered intellectual property strategy including copyright and patent protection to allow them to continue leading the way as this emerging technology grows, improves and becomes mainstream.
