Doug Turner is an Apple alumnus where as a 3D graphics research scientist he helped develop QuicktimeVR 360 panorama technology the first web-based panorama technology and precursor to Google Streetview.
Following Apple, Doug moved with his family to Reykjavik, Iceland. He worked on a variety of mobile, GIS, and 3D graphics projects in Iceland and across the Nordic Region and United Kingdom. At the invitation of The University of Iceland, Doug created and taught the first computer science seminar on Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Tangible Computing, and Visual f/x.
Doug is now based in Boston where he runs his own software consultancy focused on genomic data visualization and is exploring opportunities in augmented reality and virtual reality.
