Founder of AR in Action
John Werner is the innovator, mobilizer and human connector that founded Ideas in Action and produces TEDxBeaconStreet. Through these and other activities John has produced over 500 talks which have accumulated over 100 million YouTube views. With AR in Action, he continues a deep passion for self-directed and group learning while giving participants of his events the opportunity to engage with ideas in unique ways. John is also the founding Managing Director of the Emerging Worlds SIG at MIT Media Lab, former Head of Innovation and New Ventures for the Camera Culture Group at MIT Media Lab, and Co-leader of Imaging Cafe that brings together researchers, engineers, and students interested in computer vision, computer graphics and imaging technologies. Through these activities, John fosters deep conversation between entrepreneurs, mentors and investors. John was a Harvard University Loeb Fellow at the Graduate School of Design, a founding member of Citizen Schools, and is currently a Vice President at Meta, the AR company.
