Entrepreneur in Residence , Upload VR
Robert Scoble (born January 18, 1965) is an American blogger, technical evangelist, and author. Scoble is best known for his blog, Scobleizer, which came to prominence during his tenure as a technology evangelist at Microsoft. He later worked for Fast Company as a video blogger, and thenRackspace and the Rackspace sponsored community site Building 43 promoting breakthrough technology and startups. He currently works for Upload VR — a new media site covering virtual and augmented reality — as its entrepreneur in residence, where he develops new shows, events, and works with other entrepreneurs in the Upload Collective, a co-working space for virtual reality-focused startups.
Starting my own business inside the world’s best Virtual Reality media company. Come visit at http://www.uploadvr.com Some projects I’m working on: 1. Book “Beyond Mobile.” Writing that with Shel Israel (like my last two books). Coming December 2016. Sponsors and partners needed. (We’ll do a variety of things for partners/sponsors, please write me at scobleizer@gmail.com for more details!) The book will cover the deep technology changes that are coming that will get us to look at our mobile phones less and less over the next decade. Everything from Augmented Reality to changes in cars and, even, our culture. 2. Events about and for the VR community. 3. Shows about VR. 4. Consulting/advising new VR startups. 5. Still looking for the future for my newsletter, blog, and social media sites. I will still be covering all futuristic technology but will be focusing on augmented reality and virtual reality-focused companies and products. Sponsors needed! Please write me if you’d like to be a partner on any of these projects. scobleizer@gmail.com All that said, I’m going to have an office in Upload’s new Collective, a coworking space for startups and my main goal is to be helpful to the virtual reality community. My main business, for now, is speaking around the world. If you want to hire me to speak, please write me at scobleizer@gmail.com or see my speaking agent, Jay Kemp, of ODE Management: http://odemanagement.com/ I expect to have announcements on my own business later in 2016, stay tuned. Oh, and my blog is coming back to http://scobleizer.com and my email newsletter will turn back on in a couple of weeks at http://eepurl.com/bjalx5 (please subscribe). Thanks for all the support, hope to see you at Upload VR soon for one of our events or just to drop by and play some VR. Hint: I have both an HTC Vive as well as an Oculus Rift in my office and at home too. Finally, thank you to the 6,000 Rackers for supporting me so well over seven years at Rackspace. We did a lot of great stuff together! Why Upload? Because everyone who tries VR has a smile (look at the smile on my son’s face) and Upload is the best at covering the VR/AR space. Find us at http://www.uploadvr.com Its collective space is already the center of the VR world, can’t wait to see you there!
